The three large groups that seceded during the Pact later became known as Neo-Terra, Iron Hand, and the Corporate. Each group had its own interests and goals in Crypterra. What they had in common was that, inevitably, they all needed Tempore. Without it, they could not explore new territories and pursue their goals.
Though the Pact spoke of the factions not attacking each other, away from the gaze of the Valkyries of Sanctuary Valley, clashes between factions were commonplace. Especially when it came to Temporal sources or defending territories already occupied.
The factions are in constant hostility, but sometimes that doesn't stop individual adventurers from assembling squads, despite not the best relations within that squad - everyone wants to make money.
Neo-Terra is an enigmatic group. They have built their laboratories in hidden coves away from the prying eyes of other factions. Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Archipelago, they have dedicated themselves to understanding the delicate balance of nature and finding innovative ways to restore ecosystems ravaged by the cataclysm.
These scientists possess a deep reverence for the natural world, believing that the survival of Crypterra depends on the harmonious existence of the environment. They strive to develop sustainable technologies that harness the power of the biomes and gaps without causing further harm.
However, the Neo-Terra dedication to their cause often leads them to tread a fine line between ecological preservation and fanaticism. Their pursuit of the Great Purge involves radical measures to eradicate the remnants of the old world and restore Crypterra to its purest state. This may involve drastic population control, even straight down to zero.
Nobody knows, what exactly is building in the depth of the biggest island of Archipelago by Neo-Terra scientists. Hopefully it's another water cleaning machine, not a weapon of doomsday.
They dwell in biomes such as Archipelago, which is their basecamp, and other high-natural Biomes, such as Twilight Wilds and Coral Depths.
The Iron Hand embody a primal strength and a deep connection with the harsh environments they call their own. They have forged a unique path, mastering the art of combat, both with weapons and Mechas, and adapting to the challenges of their surroundings. Unlike the scientific advancements of other factions, they rely on instinct, endurance, and the clever repurposing of abandoned technology to gain an edge in battle.
The warriors possess an intimate knowledge of the Burning Steppes and other anthropogenic biomes, navigating the treacherous terrain with skill and precision. They have honed their senses to detect the subtle changes in polluted air and decipher the signs of passed civilizations. These warriors are attuned to the rhythm of that world, drawing strength from the flames that rage through their domains.
Surviving in the unforgiving anthropogenic biomes demands adaptability and resourcefulness. The Iron Hand salvage remnants of the past, repurposing abandoned technology into both tools of war and survival. They scavenge the wastelands for valuable resources, utilizing their expertise to repair and modify ancient machinery to serve their needs.
While they may lack the scientific knowledge of the Neo-Terra or the sophisticated infrastructure of Corporate, the Bold Crypterra Warriors make up for it with raw courage, unyielding determination, and an indomitable spirit. They are a close-knit community, fiercely loyal to one another and to their way of life. Their skills are passed down through generations, preserving a tradition of resilience and strength. They don't have planet-changing goals - just survival and embracing tradition. They don't need Great Purge or New World Order.
They dwell in biomes with high anthropogenic impact, such as Burning Steppes, Toxic Wastes and Neon Swamp.
The Corporate view Crypterra as a blank canvas, ripe for their ambitions. With a focus on corporate expansion and resource exploitation, they seek to establish dominance over the land, its people, and the remnants of the old world.
This faction possesses access to the most advanced technology and resources that Crypterra has to offer. They have refined their scientific knowledge, using mercs from Neo-Terra to develop cutting-edge weaponry, state-of-the-art surveillance systems, and sophisticated infrastructure. Their technological prowess sets them apart, granting them a significant advantage in both offense and defense.
Driven by their corporate interests, the Corporate seek to exert control over the resources and territories of Crypterra. They exploit the anthropogenic biomes for their valuable remnants of the old world, utilizing advanced machinery and trained mercenaries to extract every ounce of profit. They ruin natural biomes to start industrial extraction of resources.
Their influence extends beyond mere material gain, as they manipulate everything to solidify their power. They are building New World Order on Crypterra, where the Corporate is the one and only immeasurable power, stronger than other survivors, stronger than gaps and biomes, stronger than planet itself.
They dwell in location with the most resources at the moment and the most profit for Corporate, no matter, if there any other faction used to live there or not. You can find them in Crystal Canyon, Time-Swept Desert or Frozen Tundra.
The ones, who stayed in Sanctuary Valley quickly realize, that they have to have their own group of dedicated protectors, to serve the law and protect the peace.
The Valkyries are a select group of individuals who possess a rare combination of physical strength and intellectual acumen. They have honed their martial skills to perfection, mastering a wide range of weapons and combat techniques. In addition, their sharp minds delve into the realms of philosophy, strategy, and diplomacy, making them formidable both in battle and in the intricate art of negotiation.
Their primary mission is to protect the Pact, a sacred agreement that upholds the principles of cooperation and communication among the various factions of Crypterra. As the guardians of Sanctuary Valley, they ensure that the agreement is honored and respected, mediating disputes and maintaining balance between the factions. Their word carries great weight, and their judgements are seen as impartial and just.
The Valkyries draw strength from their deep connection to the current state of world. They are attuned to the rhythms of Crypterra, harnessing it to enhance their combat prowess. Their rituals and training regimens intertwine physical discipline with spiritual practices, creating a harmonious synergy between mind, body, and soul.
The Valkyries of Sanctuary Valley serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the people of Crypterra. They are admired not only for their unparalleled combat skills but also for their wisdom and guidance. Their vast knowledge, acquired through rigorous study and exploration, offers valuable insights into the history, lore, and mysteries of the land.
