Most of Crypterrians belong to one of 3 factions: Neo-Terra, The Iron Hand, or Corporate.
Rare characters have bonuses that improve the stats of the squad. To activate character bonuses, your squad must consist of characters of the same faction.
If you have Crypterrians from two or more factions in one squad, you will receive a debuff of -10% to the following parameters:
Decrease in experience points by 10%
Increase in Mecha energy consumption by 10%
Increase in received damage by 10%
Decrease in the probability of expedition success by 10%
Decrease in squad power by 10%
Decrease in the reward by 10%
If you have a whole squad from the same faction and your characters have bonuses, your entire squad benefits from them. Each biome has its own restrictions to the maximum value of any type of bonus.
Possible biomes-to-factions correlations
Hostile Biome: Your faction incurs a penalty to all 6 parameters (value depends on a biome)
Neutral Biome: Your faction receives a 0% bonus, even if the squad has active bonuses.
Friendly Biome: Your faction gets a +% bonus in this biome. The specific maximum bonus value for all bonus types depend on the biome
Let's say you built a squad consisting of Neo Terra Crypterrians only. That means that all bonuses can be activated, but you need to choose the right biomes.
If you go to a friendly biome - for example Twilight Wilds - all your bonuses will be activated, but the maximum value is 3% for each parameter.
If you go to hostile biome - for example Burning Steppes - your bonuses will not be activated and all 6 parameters suffer a 6% penalty.
If you go to neutral biome - for example Desert - your bonuses will not be activated, but you won't face any penalties either.
Biomes can only acivate or de-acivate bonuses of Crypterrians. A biome on its own does not give any extra bonuses.
